Update INNOVATION CENTRE Child Poverty Action Group returns for the fifth year running with UMIC events In September, the Child Poverty Action Group ran their 2017 Welfare Rights Conference focused on the challenges facing families as the roll out of Universal Credit accelerates. 120 Delegates from all over the UK attended for what is their only major conference outside London. Organiser Sebastien Clark commented on the day and his experience of dealing with the UMIC's events team: "I'm really sad to have not been there this year, but the whole team have told me that you and your colleagues did an excellent job (as always!) and helped ensure the day was a huge success. Thank you so much. We're definitely keen to return next year." We are delighted to receive such positive feedback and look forward to working with the Child Poverty Action Group again in the near future. This year has seen the continued growth of the UMIC conference and events business with revenue up by 36% on last year and 100% on 2015. Occupancy levels for our events space has increased and we continue to welcome new clients and strengthen our support for existing clients. In 2018 we will continue to roll out informative events for our tenant companies to suit their needs and to further our close working relationship. We are also very proud to continue to be an official supporter of The Christie and look forward to supporting their campaign with a series of fundraising events for tenants and key stakeholders. We continue to look towards modernisation of our event spaces and tweaks what will enhance the visitor experience for delegates and tenants alike.
