BS EN 9991 – 2021 Amendments
What has changed?
Construction of mechanical shafts;
• Mechanical shafts must now have a minimum dimension of
850mm in any direction, however no cross sectional area is
stated.
• The amended standard provides a range of 0.6m2 – 1m2,
depending on the height of the shaft and the potential for
resistance to flow.
