Graphene Enabled has also been actively
recruiting two experienced 'hands-on'
Project Engineers from industry. Ushpal
Thind, started work in November and
comes from Merseyside based Flow
Products Limited. As well as being an
experience design engineer, Ushpal has
an MSc Materials Science and Engineering
from Delft University of Technology in the
Netherlands and a BEng in Mechanical
Engineering Imperial College London. The
second engineer will start work in quarter
one 2017.
Both will be responsible for the design
and manufacture of the product
demonstrators. They will work closely with
the academic teams, industrial partners,
suppliers and potential customers
and bring a combination of practical
production skills (producing working
prototypes from sub-components, making
measurements and recording data etc.) as
well as project management capabilities
(resource planning, reporting,
budgeting etc.).
In parallel to the project engineering and
commercial activity Graphene Enabled
has been engaging with the investment
community explaining its business mission
and the forthcoming opportunities that
will be generated in the future.
Graphene Enabled is working closely
with the teams in the National Graphene
Institute (NGI), UMIP and the academic
schools to ensure the University maximises
the opportunities to exploit its 2D
materials research.
