• You have the basis of a viable venture proposition either business or social - the idea may
need work and development but the basic premise is there
• You actively wish to pursue a venture idea and are willing to engage in the Innovation
Optimiser activity. It is essential that you are able to attend the majority of the Roadmap
sessions when offered a place
• You commit to engage in the process and share learning with colleagues. Please remember
that qualifying ideas do not have to be IP based to receive support
• Academic staff will have full agreement from their Head of School to take part. Staff and
research students will have permission from their line manager or supervisor
• You agree to share any success with the University if you go on to set up a start-up
company (see page 19 for details)
