CONFERENCING AND EVENTS UPDATE…
UMIC's Conferencing and Events
facilities are in the heart of
Manchester's vibrant academic
and business community within
the Core Technology Facility
(CTF), an environment in which
ideas spark and innovation and
enterprise meet.
UMIC has recently appointed
Simon Hadfield as Conferencing
and Events manager.
Simon joins UMIC in January
after five years in London
working for the Institute of
Contemporary Arts and recently,
King's College London. An
exciting time where he worked
with a diverse range of clients
on memorable events including
the Olympics, the Royal
Wedding and the London
Marathon. Prior to this he
worked for Manchester United
at Old Trafford after graduating
from Manchester Metropolitan
University. He is looking forward
to returning to Manchester and
working for another leading
and innovative organisation.
Our meeting rooms are
dedicated spaces for busy
people to think, discuss and
plan, work through agendas,
achieve results, innovate and
burst into action. All of our
purpose-built rooms are fully-
equipped for professional
presentations with a data
projector, flipchart and free Wi-
Fi access included as standard.
Colin Curwen has been running
the events department for the
past few months and has
welcomed a wide range of
clients old and new to the CTF
including: BP, various University
departments, the School of
Dentistry, Manchester Science
Park, The Manchester Airport
Group, Johnson and Johnson
and the Business Growth Hub to
name but a few.
