Conclusion 82 REFLECTIONS ON INNOVATION Its newly appointed CEO, Ken Swain, also commented: "With the new EON Entrepreneur Coding School we are going to build a talent pool for creating 3D content. New skills will be learnt, many new jobs will be created, young students will understand difficult concepts easier and adults will absorb information faster. With our investment in people and a committed team behind the project, EON Reality will help Manchester to become Europe's top digital city by 2020." Finally, although we have demonstrated that 'Manchester is more than just graphene', this work would be incomplete without a mention of this novel material. It was first isolated at the University and is now the subject of major investment in the National Graphene Institute and the Graphene Engineering Innovation Centre. More recently, it has been announced that Manchester is to host an innovation hub for the discovery of new materials. Investment in major facilities for the University to collaborate with industry is already paying off in the attraction of Bluestone Global Tech to open its first European laboratory in Manchester. The University has more than 100 scientists and engineers working on graphene and other 2D materials, across all disciplines. They are providing the expertise and critical mass Bluestone and other industrial partners require. Bluestone, which currently has laboratories in New York and Taiwan, is leading the emerging graphene market, providing mass production of high-quality 2D materials to enable the commercialisation of many graphene-enhanced applications such as advanced displays, flexible electronics, energy storage materials, and cosmetics. "The link with the University of Manchester and the National Graphene Institute is integral to our strategy of working with our customers to bring products and processes from the lab to the workplace," said Dr Chung Ping Lai, Chief Executive Officer for Bluestone Global Tech (BGT). "With our long-term commitment and co-operation with The University of Manchester, BGT will have access to a critical mass of world-class research talent, facilities and resources and we are very excited to be located at the home of graphene." In Manchester we have the second largest creative cluster in the whole of Europe and no other European city has invested as much in its digital sector to create a global hub for creative and digital businesses such as EON Reality's Interactive R&D European Centre.
