10 When RAIN began it was clear that value must be demonstrated. Commonly, demonstrations are physical items of equipment that can be assessed by an audience. With that in mind it is vitally important to identify what is of value and to whom. However, RAIN is more than an engineering team interpreting a specification of equipment. The real secret sauce is in the experience that RAIN offers. We think this is because of our three main ingredients. The people within the RAIN Hub are as wonderfully diverse as those in the wider RAIN community. The differences and similarities within the Hub are vital to fuel curiosity in terms of what is possible, thus fostering creativity and trust. The helpful relationships that have formed during the Hub are as important, if not more so, as the solutions and options that emerge from discussions. In fact, stoking the fire of intrigue and leading conversations on novel techniques is something that has been particularly valuable for our industrial counterparts. They recognise that the RAIN team understands the context of nuclear deployments and the related challenges while always maintaining an open mind to consider additional industry feedback. This type of relationship brings a mutual benefit to all parties and helps pave the way to the important demonstrations of tech. But what is "tech"?
