RAIN is a multi-million pound robotics and artificial intelligence research hub
created to solve challenges faced by the nuclear industry. It is financed by the
government's Industrial Challenge Strategy Fund (ICSF).
The five-year initiative's key task is to create advanced robotics and AI
capable of operating in extremely harsh conditions where human access
is either not possible or limited. Through the initiative, nuclear industry
productivity will be increased and risks to human health reduced significantly.
The hub is made up of researchers from eleven UK universities, funding bodies
and representatives from the nuclear sector and other industries.
HTP were asked to develop a website for the organisation that would appeal
to several different audiences and represent many different interests. The site
was finished two years ago and we still have regular involvement with it as
regular updates are needed.
Working across so many groups meant that we had to operate in a highly
collaborative way whilst at the same time providing strong direction. The end
result, we are pleased to say, is a distinctive, informative site with a design
and look that were in no way compromised by having so many people involved.
