TESTS Approvals/standards: > External fire performance: BS 476 - Part 3: 2004 EXT.F.AC NOT FOR USE Not for use on walkways, balconies, tanking, fish and aquatic ponds, plasticised PVC (Plastisol), new lead, slate DO NOT USE ON NEW BITUMINOUS PRIMERS/COATINGS OR SURFACES PREPARATION AND APPLICATION Clear all areas of moss, lichen and debris by brushing or power washing and remove surface water and any contamination such as oil or grease and allow to dry REPAIRS TO SUBSTRATE > Including splits, cracks, joints, seals and crazed areas > Repair faults in the surface by using a high quality waterproof mastic/filler > Apply Durashield system to repaired areas incorporating Britannia Reinforcing Scrim overlapping by 5cm APPLICATION OF DURASHIELD FD (FAST DRYING) PRIMER > To a dry and cleaned surface apply a coat of Britannia Durashield FD (FAST DRYING) Primer at a Maximum rate of 0.2 lts per m 2 (equivalent to 5m 2 /lt) SCRIM AVAILABILITY > 1m x 100m, 0.5m x 100m or 0.2m x 50m rolls of scrim available APPLICATION OF SCRIM > Reinforcing Scrim is embedded into the wet Durashield avoid creasing. Finish with one coat of Durashield SCRIM RECOMMENDATION > Apply reinforcing scrim to all areas which can be ponded > Reinforcing scrim must be used on all upstands, curves, skylight bases and rainwater outlets > Reinforcing scrim to be used on all gutter expansion joints > Reinforcing scrim to be used on all repaired areas APPLICATION OF DURASHIELD TOPCOAT > To a dry and primed surface apply a generous coat of Topcoat by brush or roller at 1 - 1.5lt per m 2 > APPLICATION TEMPERATURE 2°C - 35°C FOR FD (FAST DYING) PRIMER, TOPCOAT DO NOT APPLY FD (FAST DRYING) PRIMER, TOPCOAT TO: > Frozen or damp surfaces > In hot direct sunlight or coating may skin SPREADING RATES DURASHIELD FD (FAST DRYING) PRIMER > Can be applied at a Maximum of 0.2 lts per m 2 (equivalent to 5m 2 /lt) DURASHIELD > 1 – 1.5 lt per m 2 (depending on type of roof and condition of substrate) DRYING TIME DURASHIELD FD (FAST DRYING) PRIMER > Will be dry under normal conditions in 2-4 hrs depending on humidity and temperature and can be overcoated when dry DURASHIELD > Up to 8 hours or overnight depending on temperature and conditions > Full cure: up to 7 days SALES/TECHNICAL LINE: 01606 834 015 APPLICATION GUIDE
