Shining a Spotlight on Pitch@Palace
Pitch@Palace was founded by HRH The Duke of
York in 2014 to support entrepreneurs through
opportunities for mentorship, investment and
connections to accelerate growth.
Following the success of Pitch@Palace 9.0 Boot
Camp hosted by the University back in March
(read more on UMIP news) the Manchester
Enterprise Centre (MEC) and UMIP through its
Innovation Optimiser are pleased to announce
Third Floor Systems Ltd and aiPatient Ltd are
amongst 42 finalists pitching in Pitch@Palace
10.0 at Buckingham Palace in November 2018.
Pitch @Palace 10.0 returns to a broad technology
theme showcasing companies that have
developed innovative technologies across a wide
range of areas including Biotech and Medical
Technology, Consumer Technology and Internet
of Things, Industrial Technology and Ai
and Robotics.
Third Floor Systems Ltd, a University staff start-
up supported by the Innovation Optimiser, was
founded by Dr Andrew Markwick from the School
of Physics and Astronomy. The company develops
holistic wellbeing monitors with its first product,
StudentCRT, a software system for University staff
that uses several types of student engagement
data to quickly identify students who may be
struggling with their mental health enabling early
intervention before matters escalate.
