UMIP WELCOMES
LUCY RUSSELL
UMIP welcomes Lucy Russell as IP and Legal
Co-ordinator in the IP Services and Information
Team. Lucy started her role in September.
Lucy works alongside colleagues, Linda and Jo,
covering IP due diligence, IP formalities, legal
agreements and post deal matters. Lucy has a
Law with Politics degree from The University of
Manchester and has experience as a paralegal
in Copyright and IP Law and in contract drafting
and review for Multinational scientific &
educational publisher, McGraw-Hill.
Lucy comments: "I'm delighted to join the UMIP
team and gain insight into the fantastic research
that takes place at the University – this time as
a member of staff not a student! Intellectual
property protection is critical to fostering
innovation and I've gained a real appreciation of
the legal intricacies of the patenting process. I
am excited for what's to come."
