The Robotics and Artificial Intelligence
for Nuclear (RAIN) Hub is a joint research
programme that combines academic
expertise with industry experience.
We are developing robotic technology to
perform highly complex tasks in nuclear
environments. Using robotic systems will
fundamentally improve productivity and
efficiency across the nuclear industry;
reducing the cost of decommissioning,
improving the operation of nuclear
power plants, and helping to make power
generation through nuclear fusion a reality.
RAIN aims to make robots commonplace
in the nuclear industry, removing workers
from radioactive environments. With
a major focus on demonstrating our
technology to organisations at all levels
of the UK and international nuclear supply
chains, we are making real progress
towards this goal.
