OV STAIRCASE SYSTEMS
A typical OV staircase system is located
within a protected stairwell and consists of
either an actuated window or a roof-mounted
ventilator unit (providing a free area of
1.0m
2
) and a zone control unit (networked if
it connects to other zone control units). Fire
officer over-ride switches are provided at the
fire service entrance level. Smoke detectors
can be added if the stairwell and building
layout require them.
