AOV SMOKE SHAFT SYSTEMS
AOV smoke systems are generally
located within a protected lobby,
where they are attached to a rising
smoke shaft with a termination
vent at its head.
A typical system consists of
actuated fire doors or smoke
damper and grille sets. A free area
of 1m
2
is provided (the smoke shaft
itself having a footprint of 1.5m
2
).
Zone control units are networked
and include fire officer over-ride
switches and smoke detectors (or
an interface connection from the
landlord's fire door system).
